Delhi Capitals pacer Anrich Nortje from South Africa on 14 April 2021 tested positive for Covid-19, in what comes as a huge blow for the club and tournament Indian Premier League.
Nortje is not the first cricketer to test positive for the deadly virus this season. Apart from the ground staff and event managers at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, several players had been afflicted too.
Daniel Sams
Left handed AUS seamer of RCB Daniel Sams has tested positive today 7 April 2021. Sams is said to be asymptomatic thus far and has been isolated at a "designated medical facility". He will miss the opening encounter RCB vs MI on 9 April 2021.
Official Statement: Daniel Sams checked into the team hotel in Chennai on April 3rd, with a negative COVID report on arrival. His report from the 2nd test on 7th April came positive. Sams is currently asymptomatic and he is currently in isolation at a designated medical facility.

Left handed opener of RCB Devdutt Padikkal has tested positive today. He will not be available for first encounter between RCB vs MI on 9 April 2021.

Axar patel
Delhi Capitals allrounder Axar Patel has tested positive recently. Earlier he was tested negative on 28 march 2021. In the second covid test he again found positive. He will in quarntine for next 10 days. He will also have to go through cardiac screening before joining the team back.

Content team member of Chennai Super Kings tested positive and has subsequently been put under isolation. there is no any further update on this yet.
Nitish rana
The KKR batsman had tested positive for COVID-19 on 22 March 2021, before entering the bio-bubble. But after two negative tests, Nitish Rana has joined the side and is back at training on Saturday.
